Lucas Bols BV (formerly Lucas Bols Brand Group ) is a Dutch manufacturer of liqueurs based in Amsterdam . Production is located in Zoetermeer .
history
Lucas Bols from Amsterdam created some spirits in 1575 based on the spices sold in his city , which are still produced today. This includes the Curaçao Blue .
Bols took part in the World Exhibition in Vienna in 1873 , the stand was in the food hall. The Dutch costume worn by saleswoman Chrisje Sterck can still be seen in the Bols Museum today. Bols was awarded the Medal of Progress and one year later was appointed supplier to the Imperial and Royal Court . The branch was located at Am Hof 3 in the 1st district. Bols still supplied the King of the Netherlands , the court of Belgium , Luxembourg , England , Greece , Spain , Sweden , Denmark , Monaco , and later also Ethiopia and Nepal .
In 1954, Bols bought the competitor Wynand Fockink , who was also a purveyor to the court.
Today Bols products are sold in 70 countries. From 2000, Bols belonged to the Rémy-Cointreau group, which separated from the company again in 2006 by means of a management buyout . Today Lucas Bols is a Dutch company with the legal form of Besloten Vennootschap .
The German subsidiary, Erven Lucas Bols AG, founded in 1922, destroyed in 1944 and rebuilt from 1948, was located in Emmerich and later in Neuss . Exclusive distribution later took over for Germany , the Beam Suntory Germany GmbH (formerly Beam Germany GmbH, formerly Maxximum Germany GmbH), headquartered in Frankfurt , for Austria Schlumberger AG in Vienna and for Switzerland , the company Dettling & Marmot from Wollerau .
