Lucien Fischer
Lucien Prosper Ernest Fischer CSSp (born November 27, 1933 in Strasbourg ) is emeritus Vicar Apostolic of Iles Saint-Pierre et Miquelon .
Life
Lucien Fischer joined the religious community of Spiritans and was ordained a priest on September 30, 1962 .
Pope John Paul II appointed him Titular Bishop of Avioccala and Apostolic Vicar of Iles Saint-Pierre et Miquelon on February 17, 2000 . The Archbishop of Strasbourg , Joseph Doré PSS , donated him episcopal ordination on June 18 of the same year; Co- consecrators were James Hector MacDonald CSC , Archbishop of Saint John's, Newfoundland , and Timothée Modibo-Nzockena , Bishop of Franceville .
On June 19, 2009, Pope Benedict XVI. his resignation request submitted for reasons of age.
