Lucius papa
Lucius Papa (* 1566 in Samedan ; † 1632 ibid) was a Swiss Reformed clergyman and Bible translator .
Life
Lucius Papa was born in Semedan in the canton of Graubünden in 1566 . In 1579 and 1580 he attended a school in Zurich . In 1586 he was accepted into the Evangelical-Rhaetian Synod in Davos , which allowed him to work as a pastor in the Free State of the Three Leagues . The next year he took over the pastor's position in Tschlin . A year later he moved to Samedan, where he worked as a notary in addition to the pastor's post . In 1605 he also took over Filisur , where he stayed for 18 years. He was also a pastor in Bivio in 1609 . He worked as a parish priest and notary in his hometown until his death in 1632. Papa's importance lies primarily in the area of Rhaeto-Romanic literature, especially in Bible translations.
