Ludwig Boer

Ludwig Böer (born October 11, 1900 in Wohlau ; † September 16, 1987 in Bruchsal ) was a German teacher and local researcher.

Life

Ludwig Böer went to school in Schwedt , did his military service in Landsberg an der Warthe in 1918 and graduated from high school in 1920. He then worked as an insurance agent in Szczecin . From 1922 to 1928 Böer studied German, history, art history and sports in Breslau . He received his doctorate there in 1928 with a thesis on Agnes Miegel .

From 1931 to 1933 he was a German teacher at the 6th Reiter Regiment in Schwedt, then he was a study assessor in Steinau an der Oder (today Ścinawa). Towards the end of the Second World War he took part in the defense of Steinau and was taken prisoner by the Soviets.

In 1948/49 Böer was editor of the newspaper "Abendland" in Augsburg . From 1952 to 1967 he worked as a teacher in Bruchsal. He published several works on the history of the city of Schwedt as well as his new home, Bruchsal, and in 1984 received the Medal of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany .
