Ludwig Burkardt (born July 15, 1946 in Burghaun , Hünfeld district , † May 30, 2015 in Berlin ) was a German politician ( CDU ). From 2009 until his death he was a member of the Brandenburg state parliament .

Life and work

After graduating from the Rabanus-Maurus-Schule (Domgymnasium) in Fulda in 1966 , Burkardt initially did his military service and then, from 1968, studied law at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich and the Julius Maximilians University in Würzburg, which he finished in 1972 with the first state examination in law. After completing his legal clerkship, he passed the second state examination in 1975.

From 1975 to 1978 Burkardt worked as assistant to the chairman of the board of Colonia Versicherung AG in Cologne, from 1979 to 1982 as deputy city director, city councilor and councilor in Lennestadt and from 1982 to 1988 as city director, city treasurer and works manager of the municipal utilities in Goslar .

From 1989 to 2009 he was a member of the board of the BBU Verband Berlin-Brandenburgischer Wohnungsunternehmen e. V , the largest branch association of the organized housing industry in Berlin and Brandenburg.

From August 1993 to the beginning of 2010, Ludwig Burkardt was chairman of the supervisory board of Leipziger Wohnungs- und Baugesellschaft mbH (LWB).

Burkardt was married and had two children. Since 1968 he was a member of the Catholic student association KDStV Tuiskonia Munich.

Ludwig Burkardt had been a member of the CDU since 1970. From 1971 to 1975 he was chairman of the Junge Union Osthessen and a member of the state board of the Junge Union Hessen . From 1972 to 1979 he was involved at the local political level in the Fulda district council, as parliamentary group chairman in the municipal council in Burghaun and in the regional planning community in East Hesse.

Since 2003 Burkardt was a member of the community council in Kleinmachnow , until 2014 as chairman of the CDU parliamentary group Kleinmachnow. Since March 2014 he was chairman of the CDU Kleinmachnow community association.

In 2008 Burkardt was elected as a member of the Potsdam-Mittelmark district council and was the deputy chairman of the district committee.

Ludwig Burkardt was district chairman of the Seniors Union Potsdam-Mittelmark (since December 2013) and since August 2014 deputy state chairman of the Seniors Union Brandenburg.

For the state election in Brandenburg on September 27, 2009 , Ludwig Burkardt ran for a mandate in the Potsdam-Mittelmark II state electoral district and entered the state parliament via the state list .

Burkardt was chairman of the state parliament's budget and finance committee from 2010 to November 2014. In the CDU parliamentary group he also worked as a spokesman for finances and local finances during this period. He was also chairman of the election review committee and member of the administrative board of the Brandenburg State Investment Bank .

In the state election on September 14, 2014, he was re-elected to the state parliament. He again held the office of chairman of the electoral review committee and was a member of the budget control committee.
