Ludwig Christian Wilhelm Zwicker

Ludwig Christian Wilhelm Zwicker (born April 14, 1763 in Hanover ; † June 5, 1824 there ) was mayor of Hanover between 1810 and 1820.

Zwicker was born the son of a pastor at the Aegidienkirche in Hanover. After studying law in Göttingen from 1781 to 1786, he initially worked as a lawyer in Hanover. In 1802 he became syndic of the city of Münden , and in 1803 a member of the Hanover consistory. In January 1810 he was elected mayor after the death of Ernst Friedrich Hector Falcke . In September 1810, however, due to the incorporation of Hanover into the Kingdom of Westphalia, he left office for three years. His second term lasted from 1813 to 1820. Subsequently, Zwicker was still active as a senior tax councilor in the civil service.

Zwicker was a Freemason and from 1810 to 1820 master of the chair of the Hanoverian Lodge Friedrich . He was buried in the garden cemetery. The poet lawyer Carl August Heinrich Zwicker is his son.
