Ludwig Neelmeyer
Ludwig Neelmeyer (* 27. January 1814 in Osnabrück ; † 12. March 1870 in Gries in Bolzano ( South Tyrol )) was a painter of romanticism .
The main motifs of his work were landscapes, which he both drew and painted in oil. Trained in Munich, Neelmeyer initially worked in Milan , a. a. as art teacher for the children of Archduke Rainer . When he moved his residence to Bozen in 1848 , Neelmeyer followed him and worked there until he went blind at the age of 40.
Pictures by Neelmeyer hang, for example, in the Bolzano Municipal Museum and in the Ferdinandeum in Innsbruck .
