Ludwig Polzin

Ludwig Sebald Polzin (born August 19, 1892 in Breitenstein , district of Deutsch Krone , † January 30, 1964 in Stettenhofen ) was a German Roman Catholic clergyman and vicar capitular of the prelature Schneidemühl .

Life

After attending grammar school in Deutsch Krone , he studied theology at the Posen seminary until 1914 and from 1919 to 1921 in Braunsberg . Between the studies he served as a soldier in the First World War . After his ordination by the Bishop of Warmia , Augustinus Bludau , on June 30, 1921 in Frauenburg Cathedral , he was initially a chaplain in Behle in the Netzekreis, Fraustadt and Schneidemühl . In 1930 he was appointed administrator of the Catholic Settlement Service in Berlin, which was founded by Maximilian Kaller, and in 1932 he was appointed to the clergy . In Rokitten he became a pastor in 1936 until the Polish authorities expelled him in 1945. After the war he worked for the German Caritas Association in Berlin. In 1953, after the death of Franz Hartz, he was elected as the new vicar capitular of the Prelature Schneidemühl ; Prelate Wilhelm Volkmann was his successor after his death. He died in the parsonage where he lived in Stettenhofen on January 30, 1964 and was buried on February 6, 1964 in the Matthias Cemetery in Berlin.
