Ludwig von Demuth (historically also Ludwig or von Demuth , or Ludwig von der Demuth , Ludovici de Demuth ) is the name of an aristocratic family from Ermland - Prussia which has died out .

history

The family of Ludwig is named (like that of Bartsch with the Eichhorn coat of arms , which was wealthy in the Heilsberg district ) after his ancestral estate Demuth in the former Braunsberg district . The Ludwig von Demuth family has also owned Gut Schönau, a dismantling of Demuth, here since the 14th century. In the 17th century, Lopitken in the Mohrungen district was also owned by the family.

Ludwig and Ekkehard and their legal heirs and successors were transferred in 1301 in the name of the chapter of the Diocese of Ermland 40 Hufen in the old Prussian field Demyta , to kulmischen right and perpetual possession. The property of Ludwig and Ekkehard was then named Demuth and a little later more land was acquired for Gut Demuth, which was then separated as Gut Schönau. In 1656 Ludwig Ludwig is the owner of nobleman Schönau. Eucharius Ludwig von Demuth (around 1610–1679) belonged to the Schönau family and in 1636 married Barbara von Pudwells († 1686), daughter of Kristof von Pudwells and Barbara von Preuck . Both sons were Johannes Ludwig (1656–1737) who was born in Schönau. In 1772 Adlig Demuth belonged to a lieutenant von Strakowsky and Adlig Schönau belonged to Adalbert von Hosius, who was related to Ludwig von Demuth.

Paul von Demuth sat on Demuth in 1490. Michel von Demuth was a district judge in the Mehlsack Chamber of Commerce in 1501 , an eponymous mayor of Braunsberg in 1513, and in the same year Friedrich von Demuth was a district judge. Eustachius Ludwig von der Demuth was Burgrave of Allenstein in 1577 . Laurentius Ludwig von Demuth (around 1616–1680) was a canon of the Warmia . He was apostolic or papal protonotarius, canon of Frauenberg , formerly archpriest, dean, pastor, vicarius, official in Danzig and Pomerania as well as royal secretary. He bequeathed all of his goods to the St. Brigitte Monastery in Danzig . Patricius Ignatius Ludwig von Demuth founded the Beneficium Ludvichianum novum in 1703 , one of the mild foundations and legacies from which the parish church of St. Katharina in Braunsberg drew its income.
