Ludwig Ernst Adolph von Reventlow also Ludwig Ernst Adolph Detlev zu Reventlow (born July 5, 1864 in Kiel , † May 22, 1906 in Wiesbaden ) was a German landowner and member of the Reichstag.

Life

Ludwig von Reventlow, from the noble family of the same name, was one of six children of the Prussian district administrator and bailiff of Holstein Ludwig Graf Reventlow (1824-1893) and his wife Emilie nee. Countess zu Rantzau (1834–1905), a daughter of Ernst zu Rantzau . Siblings were Ernst Graf zu Reventlow and Fanny zu Reventlow .

Ludwig von Reventlow attended high school in Husum and the Christiansfeld educational institution . After graduating from high school, he studied at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich , the Christian Albrechts University in Kiel and the Royal University of Greifswald . He joined the Corps Holsatia and the Corps Franconia Munich .

He embarked on a legal career and was trainee lawyer in Greifswald from 1887, assessor in 1892 and lawyer in Kiel until 1896. In 1890 he was engaged to the Jew Sophie Eysen , which he broke off under pressure from his parents. In 1892 he married Countess Benedikta zu Reventlow and inherited the Wulfshagen estate , which he lived in and managed from 1896.

He served in the Lauenburg Jäger Battalion No. 9 in Ratzeburg . After that he was first lieutenant in the Landwehr and head of office .

As a member of the German Social Party , he sat in the Reichstag from 1903 for the constituency of Kassel 1 Rinteln , Hofgeismar , Wolfhagen . On February 1, 1905, he fought a speech duel with Chancellor von Bülow . In 1906 he died of kidney cancer in Wiesbaden.
