Luigi Batzella
Luigi Batzella (born May 27, 1924 in San Sperate , † November 18, 2008 in Cagliari ) was an Italian film director , actor , screenwriter and film editor .
Life
After the end of World War II , Batzella came to Rome and attended the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia . In 1953 he made his debut as an actor in Non è mai troppo tardi and until 1960 concentrated on the performance, which he completed under the name Paolo Solvay . He often took on roles in small genre films by director Roberto Mauri until he directed it himself for the first time in 1966. A series of extremely inexpensive C-films were produced, which today often enjoy cult status as trash ; Batzella was especially known for the Nazi propaganda film La bestia in calore . In 1985 he ended his career and returned to his hometown.
He also used a number of pseudonyms as a director: Paul Hamus , Dean Jones and Ivan Kathansky .
