Luigi Mistò

Luigi Mistò (born June 24, 1952 in Binago ) is the current secretary of the administrative department of the Economic Secretariat .

Life

From 1976 to 1979 he was a student in Rome at the Pontifical Lombard Seminary . He was ordained a priest on June 12, 1976 . In 1981 he was at the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome for the doctor of canon law doctorate .

He taught as professor of canon law in the seminary of Milan ( Seveso , 1979–1983; Venegono Inferiore , 1983–1999), and as Chancellor of the Curia from 1999 to 2004 and as a member of the Board of Directors of the Central Institute for the Assistance of the Clergy (2001–2011 ). John Paul II appointed him chaplain to His Holiness on November 6, 2001 . In recognition of his services to the Archdiocese of Milan, he was made an Honorary Canon of the Metropolitan Chapter of the Milan Cathedral .

He was previously director of the College of Religious Studies and the Ambrosian Foundation of Paul VI. in Villa Cagnola Gazzada Schianno , Head of the Service of the Archdiocese of Milan to Promote Economic Support to the Church and Professor of Public Law at the Milan Seminary and the Pius X Canon Law Institute in Venice . Pope Benedict XVI appointed him on July 7, 2011 as Secretary of the Administration of Goods of the Apostolic See . Francis appointed him Secretary of the Administrative Department of the Economic Secretariat on April 14, 2015.
