Luis Guízar y Barragán (born June 21, 1895 in Cotija , Jalisco , Mexico , † October 26, 1981 ) was Bishop of Saltillo .

Life

Luis Barragan y Guízar received on 28 October 1918, the sacrament of Holy Orders .

On November 27, 1931, Pope Pius XI appointed him . to the Bishop of Campeche . The bishop of Chihuahua , Antonio Guízar y Valencia , donated him episcopal ordination on February 7, 1932 ; Co- consecrators were the Bishop of Veracruz-Jalapa , Raphael Guizar Valencia , and the Bishop of Cuernavaca , Francisco María González y Arias . The inauguration took place on February 28 of the same year. On October 7, 1938, Pius XI appointed him. the titular bishop of Tinum and ordered him to Coadjutor Bishop of Saltillo. Guízar y Barragán became bishop of Saltillo on April 5, 1954, succeeding the late Jesús María Echavarría y Aguirre .

Luis Guízar y Barragán participated in all four sessions of the Second Vatican Council .

On October 4, 1975, Pope Paul VI. Luis Guízar y Barragán's resignation due to reasons of age.
