Luka Švab (born October 16, 1991 in Kranj ) is a Slovenian natural toboggan runner . He rides in a single seater and has been competing in the World Cup since 2007 , where he has been in the top 20 six times so far.

Career

Luka Švab started in the 2005/2006 season in the Intercontinental Cup and took part in a Junior World Championship in Garmisch-Partenkirchen for the first time in February 2006 , where he was 19th. On January 14th, 2007, he contested his first World Cup race in Umhausen , which he finished in 30th place out of 36 tobogganists. In the 2006/2007 season, this remained his only World Cup start. In the next winter he already made three World Cup appearances, achieved a 19th place as the best result at the first race in Moos in Passeier and was 33rd in the overall World Cup. At the Junior European Championships 2007 in St. Sebastian Švab was 14th, at the Junior World Championships 2008 in Latsch , however, he was eliminated.

In the 2008/2009 season , Luka Švab already took part in five of the six World Cup races and achieved his best results so far with two 15th places at the end of the season in Nowouralsk . In the overall World Cup he was 17th, which is also his best result so far. In February 2009 he also took part in a world championship in the general class for the first time and achieved 18th place in Moos in Passeier as the second best of the four Slovenes. At the Junior European Championships in Longiarü he reached fifth place in the same year. Švab competed in four world cup races in the 2009/2010 season . His best result was a 17th place in the second race of Nowouralsk and he was 24th overall. At the 2010 European Championships in St. Sebastian, he was second-best Slovene as 21st; two weeks later he finished eighth in the Junior World Championship in Deutschnofen .

After the 2009/2010 season, Švab has not yet participated in any international tobogganing competitions. In summer, however, he continues to compete in roller luge competitions. In 2010 he won the overall ranking of the Austrian Roller Luge Cup in the junior class.
