The Lumkofel is a panoramic mountain in the eastern Riebenkofelkamm of the Lienz Dolomites with a height of 2287 m above sea level. A. It is located in the area of the cadastral community Liesing in the Lesachtal in the Carinthian district of Hermagor .
From the summit there is a far-reaching view from the Großglockner to the Dolomites , Carnic Alps , Karawanken , Reisskofel group , Lienz Dolomites, Hochstadel, Gailtal , Drautal etc.
Climbs
The ascent to the Lumkofel is possible in two ways. On the one hand from the village of Klebas, continue along the road to Tscheltsch and from there to the Lumkofel- Riebenkofel -Millnitzsattel junction. The further path leads over the so-called "Bruch" and the yoke to the summit. The other option is from Assing across the meadows of the Motalpe (south side of the Lumkofel). The ascent takes 3½ to 4 hours at a time.
