Lutz Plumber

Lutz Plümer (born January 20, 1951 in Rinteln ) is Professor of Geoinformation at the Institute for Geodesy and Geoinformation at the University of Bonn .

The seventies spent Lutz Plümer addition to a study of the educational sciences , philosophy and sociology at the University of Hamburg mainly with political activity. He was a member of the “Socialist Student Group” (SSG), the Communist Federation of West Germany and later also a functionary of the KBW, for which he ran in the 1976 federal election under the title “Lagerist”. In April 1980, at the invitation of ZANU , Lutz Plümer took part in the celebrations for independence from Zimbabwe as a representative of the KBW . In 1980 he was the chief editor of the KBW central organ Communist People's Newspaper (KVZ), for which he wrote several articles as well as for the theoretical organ Communism and Class Struggle (KuK). Upon cleavage of the KBW he stood on the side of the greasers - faction of the Central Committee , of which he was then.

Career

Lutz Plümer doctorate in 1989 after studying computer science at the University of Dortmund there to the Dr. rer. nat. In 1994 he completed his habilitation in computer science at the University of Bonn . From 1997 to 1999 he held a professorship for environmental sciences with a focus on computer science at the University of Vechta . From 1999 until his retirement in 2016 he was Professor of Geoinformation at the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn and taught and researched in the Geodesy and Geoinformation course. Since 2019 he has been teaching and researching at Southwest Jiaotang University (SWJTU) in Chengdu, China, and as dean heads the Faculty of Geosciences and Environmental Engineering (FGEE) with the aim of establishing an international model faculty.
