Lycium dasystemum is a plant species from the genus of the buckthorn ( Lycium ) inthe nightshade family (Solanaceae).
description
Lycium dasystemum is a vigorous, upright shrub that reaches heights of up to 1.5 m. Its leaves are 15 to 60 mm long and 5 to 15 mm wide.
The flowers are hermaphroditic. The calyx is bell-shaped and ciliate, its calyx tube is 4 mm long. The crown is funnel-shaped and purple in color. The corolla tube is 9 to 13 mm long, the corolla lobes about half as long. The stamens are covered with eyelash-like hairs.
The fruit is a red, egg-shaped or elongated berry that grows 10 to 12 mm long and 5 to 8 mm wide and contains more than 20 seeds .
Occurrence
The species is widespread in Eurasia and occurs there in the Chinese provinces of Gansu , Qinghai and Xinjiang , as well as in Afghanistan , Kazakhstan , Kyrgyzstan , Pakistan , Tajikistan , Turkmenia and Uzbekistan .
