Lycium rachidocladum is a plant type from the genus of Lycium ( Lycium ) in the family of the nightshade family (Solanaceae).

Lycium rachidocladum is a small, upright shrub . Its leaves are hairy, 3 to 10 mm long and 2 to 6 mm wide.
The flowers are hermaphroditic and five-fold. The calyx is tubular or cup-shaped and hairy. The calyx tube is 1.5 to 3.5 mm long and covered with 1.5 to 3 mm long calyx lobes. The crown is spreading and colored white-purple. The corolla tube reaches a length of 6 to 8 mm, the corolla lobes are 2.5 to 3.5 mm long. The stamens are tomentose above the base on the first millimeter of the free-standing part.
The fruit is a berry that contains a variety of seeds .
Occurrence
The species is widespread in South America and occurs there in Chile .
Systematics
Molecular biological studies place the species together with Lycium brevipes , Lycium carolinianum and Lycium tenuispinosum in a clearly supported clade , which in turn is placed in a larger clade of purely American species.
