The Mühlbach , sometimes also called Mühlbächle , is a creek 4.7 km in length on the boundary of the Ettenkirch district of Friedrichshafen in the Lake Constance district in southern Baden-Württemberg , which flows into the Schussen from the right at the border triangle with the city of Ravensburg and the municipality of Meckenbeuren .

geography

Source and history

The Mühlbach has two headwaters, the shorter one with significantly less catchment area than the official one.

Left branch

The left upper course begins at the foot of a grass path on an embankment, about 300 m east of Ellenweiler shortly before a wooded area, then runs towards this, on its western edge to the south and bends there to the east. Through the corridor it then reaches the northwest tip of the Appenweiler Weiher , where it meets the other upper course flowing out of this. Until the union it has a length of about 0.8 km.

Right branch

The right upper course is created as a ditch between properties north of a nameless Ettenkirchen group of houses on the eastern slope of the Hummelberg , close to the boundary of the Taldorf district of the city of Ravensburg . He first flows in an easterly direction, takes on a different trench 300 meters long, 200 yards from the northwest to less than 100 meters from the right one himself there as long right from the left side and returns after about 300 meters in front of the rose garden to South. In the meantime, running in a small hollow parallel to the K 7729, it reaches Ellenweiler after 800 meters , crosses under the road in a south-westerly offset and there, after passing an embankment line running north and south from its hollow flanks , turns into a shallower depression, and then turns up again To go south course. The left branch begins just a good 100 meters north of its new south bend. Before the embankment line, it runs parallel to the K 7729 to the south, after a total of about 2000 meters it turns into a wide curve to the north, which circles south of Bettenweiler , and continues downwards in the Gewann Großer Weiher at 454.5  m then into the approximately 2, 2 hectare Appenweiler pond . After leaving the country, after a few steps, he merges with his left brother. Until the union it has a length of about 3.0 km.

Lower course

After the branches have merged, the Mühlbach is now accompanied by a wood gallery and it flows in the direction of its shorter left branch on the southern edge of Appenweiler to the east and then bends to the northeast. About 700 meters after the unification it reaches the western edge of a larger forest area, enters it continuously and separates the Weißenau forest on his right from the Adelsreuter forest on his left. Inside, the first of three left tributaries with lengths of around one kilometer reaches it straight away from the backyard , after which it lies in wild little loops. From the inlet of the second brook from the Adelsreuter forest, however, it continues in a straight line. At the confluence of the third, this and the Mühlenbach itself already run in a clearly sloping valley, from here the city limits between Friedrichshafen and Ravensburg follow it. It now turns very quickly to the southeast, the corridor comes to its left bank and it finally flows at the tip of a north wedge of the municipality of Meckenbeuren after 6.3 km from the right into the Schussen, which runs south here .

Catchment area

The Mühlbach has a catchment area of 4.7 km². About 16 hectares north of the top left branch and about 39 hectares also in the north in the Adelreuter Forest belong to the district Taldorf von Ravensburg, the vast majority of the remaining part to the district Ettenkirch of Friedrichshafen. About a third of it is forest.

In addition to the above-mentioned places and residential areas Appenweiler, Bettenweiler, Ellenweiler, Hinterhof, Rosengarten, the catchment area also includes Batzenweiler and most of the Lempfriedsweiler , a Lehhorn building and two unnamed residential areas. The population density is low.

Individual evidence

  1. ^ Name according to TK50.
  2. ^ Name according to LUBW-FG10.
  3. ↑ Estimated according to the contour line image on the geodata viewer.
  4. Text entry in blue on the muzzle on the TK50.
  5. According to data record entry for LUBW-FG10.
  6. According to LUBW-GEZG.
  7. Matching water code on LUBW-FG10. In LUBW-FG10, the lower course is named Mühlbächle after the confluence in the common data record entry , the other upper course is not named in its data record entry, but is labeled Mühlbach in certain map resolutions. TK50 and LUBW-FG10 label the lower reaches with Mühlbach .
  8. Measured on LUBW.FG10.
  9. Altitude triangle in the lake and text entry in blue on geodata viewer maps of suitable resolution.
  10. The LUBW-SG10 mentions a size of only about 0.1 ha in the associated data set, but this does not match the much wider contour of the lake, both on the LUBW-GEZG itself and on the TK25. The stated value is measured on the geodata viewer map underlying the LUBW-GEZG.
