Munich summer theater
The Munich Summer Theater is a free troupe of young actors and musicians. The ensemble was founded in 1990 and is under the direction of director, playwright and founder Ulrike Dissmann . The Munich summer theater is supported by a sponsors' association and a foundation .
history
Since 1990, a classical comedy has been shown every year in July in the amphitheater of the English Garden with free admission.
In 2001, the listed Remise of the Mohr Villa in Freimann was converted into a theater with the funds of the foundation . Since then, the July performances of the summer theater have taken place there when it rains. The playing time could be extended to the last two September weekends.
In the mid-00s, members of the summer theater formed the Ensemble Riscant .
Since 2008, the actors have performed guest performances throughout Germany.
