The Münchweiler Bach is an approximately one kilometer long left tributary of the Alsenz in the area of the municipality of Münchweiler an der Alsenz in the Donnersbergkreis in Rhineland-Palatinate .
geography
course
The Münchweiler Bach rises a good half a kilometer west of the Münchweiler residential area Ziegelhütte in a wood and initially flows in a north-east direction and under the B 48 . In the beginning he is constantly accompanied by a tree and bush gallery that thins out after the main road. After about 800 meters he reaches the outskirts of Münchweiler. In the village it flows in a right curve and mainly in a canal that flows into the Alsenz near the center of the village.
Catchment area
The 1.0 km² catchment area lies in the border area of the natural areas Palatinate Forest and Saar-Nahe-Bergland and has a share in their two sub-areas Haardt and Glan-Alsenz-Berg- und Hügelland (other name: North Palatinate Bergland ). It extends from the Heuberg ( 371.7 m above sea level ) southeast of Lohnsfeld, wedging east-northeast, about 1.9 km to the mouth in the center of Münchweiler; the creek therefore begins quite far below and in front of the valley basin of the Upper Valley flanked by high plains. To the west, behind the Heuberg, is the catchment area of the nearby Lohnbach , a more important left tributary of the Alsenz flowing northwards a little further down the river. Beyond the northwestern watershed, no more notable watercourse flows to Lohnsbach or Alsenz. The next competitor in the south arises with its next branch in the Lattenwald and runs through the Neuwoog eastwards to the Alsenz a little further up on its course.
There is some forest around the Obertalmulde, otherwise the area is open except for the row of trees on the Lauf and a few others on the slopes and comprises more meadows in the upper part and more fields towards the valley towards the Alsenz. There is a sporadic development on the Heuberg, the first and only place on the course is the mouth of Münchweiler.
