The Müsselberg is a wooded hilltop near Partenstein in Bavaria . Its highest elevation at 477.8 meters can hardly be seen due to the flat summit plateau ( dominance 1.6 km, notch height 22 m). Neither hiking trails nor forest roads lead to this highest point, it can only be reached via unpaved farm roads. However, Hessenweg 9 (Limburg - Lohr a. Main) passes about 1 km away . To the west, the Müsselberg is bordered by the Schnepfental (there remains of heavy spar mining ), to the south by the Lohrtal and east by the Lehngrund . To the north lies the ridge of the Gerberg with a height of around 470 m. The upper basin of the Langenprozelten pumped storage power plant is 2 km to the east .
In Partenstein opposite the train station the street "Müsselberg" begins through a settlement area on the slope of the mountain of the same name, in its continuation the " Gemündener Weg" leads with the local marking P3 and the regional marking of the Spessartbund "Mal" to the Ritter-Kunzen-Schuh, a shoe print in the sandstone that gave rise to a legend.
