Mątowy Małe ( German : Klein Montau ) is a village in Poland in the Pomeranian Voivodeship , in the powiat Malborski ( Marienburg ) in the municipality of Miłoradz and is located on the Vistula .

About 180 inhabitants live in Mątowy Małe (2011).

Mątowy Małe is located about 4 kilometers southwest of Miłoradz, 12 km west of Malbork Castle and 44 km south of the capital of the Gdansk region .

history

In 1920 Klein Montau moved from the German district of Marienburg to the district of Großes Werder in the Free State of Danzig . With the capture of the Free State by Germany in 1939 and the subsequent annexation, which was not recognized under international law, Klein Montau came under German rule until 1945.

From 1975 to 1998, Klein Montau was part of the Elbląg Voivodeship .
