The MTV Großenheidorn von 1908 eV is a sports club from Großenheidorn in Lower Saxony . It was founded in 1908 under the name Jugendkraft . After the club's operations came to a standstill during the Second World War , the club was re-established on September 30, 1945 under its current name.

The MTV Großenheidorn offers aquafitness , badminton , boßeln , handball , hapkido , jazz dance , gymnastics , jazz gymnastics , judo , children's gymnastics , Nordic walking , step aerobics , table tennis and water aerobics as well as health sports for seniors in seven departments .

The MTV became known nationwide through its men's handball team, which took part in the main round of the DHB Cup 2000/01 . In the first round she prevailed against the second team of HC Empor Rostock with 19:18, but was defeated in the second round against SV Anhalt Bernburg with 17:19. There are currently three men's and three women's teams taking part in the game, with both the first men's and the first women's team playing in the Lower Saxony handball league in the 2013/14 season .

The 2017/2018 season was able to conclude the men's team with the Lower Saxony championship title and played in the third division, season west , in the 2018/2019 season . There, however, after only one season, the gang had to start again in the handball upper league Lower Saxony.

In the children and youth sector, a youth play community was founded in 2007 together with MTV Idensen and TuS Wunstorf , which will compete under the name GIW Meerhandball 2007 .
