The MTV Leck (full name Men-Turnverein Leck from 1889 eV ) is a sports club from the municipality of Leck in the North Friesland district . It was founded in 1889 and offers aikido , badminton , basketball , soccer , handball , judo , karate , athletics , cycling , sambo , chess , swimming , sport shooting , tennis , table tennis , triathlon , gymnastics and volleyball . There is also a leisure roundabout division .
Soccer
The women of MTV Leck played in the 1996/97 season in the Oberliga Nord , the second highest division at the time. The 2013/14 season ended the team in third place in the League North of the Schleswig-Holstein Football Association .
Handball
Since 2003, the men's team of MTV Leck has formed the HSG Nord-Nordfriesland together with SG Niebüll / Süderlügum , which played in the regional handball league from 2003 until its voluntary retirement in 2007 . A year later, the relegation from the Oberliga Schleswig-Holstein followed. The HSG then played in the Schleswig-Holstein League of the Schleswig-Holstein handball association . In 2015, the HSG was relegated to the state league after ten points were deducted from the team for playing a player who was not eligible to play.
Well-known former players
Table tennis
In the 1960s and 1970s, the table tennis division of MTV Leck was very successfully represented with its teams in the district and association leagues of Schleswig-Holstein. It ceased operations in the early 1990s. The table tennis department was reactivated in May 2013 after a 25-year break. Since 2014 she has been a member of the table tennis district association North Friesland again and sends a team to the point game operation.
