Maartje ten Hoorn

Maartje "Maraatsj" ten Hoorn (* 1957 ) is a Dutch violinist who first emerged in the field of creative jazz and improvisation music.

Ten Hoorn studied at the Hague Conservatory . She appeared at the Canaille -Festival 1986 in Zurich and with John Carter and played in groups such as Byte , The Schismatics , various formations Maarten Altenas and was a member of the Het Improviserend Strijorkest and ICP Orkest .

In 2002 she founded the Maartje ten Hoorn String Quartet with Lorre Lynn Tritten , Jeffrey Bruinsma and Alex Waterman . The group released the album Sparkles in 2005 and plays contemporary music and improvisational music. In 2005 ten Hoorn founded the Play Station 6 group , which also includes Tobias Delius , Eric Boeren , Meinrad Kneer , Achim Kaufmann and Paul Lovens .

In addition, she composed a. a. for Bart van der Putten's Raam group , Eric Boeren's double quartet, the guitarist Wiek Hijmans and for Tristan Honsinger .
