Mac and Katie Kissoon was a British pop - and Soul - Duo , the (* from the siblings Gerald "Mac" Kissoon 11 November 1943 in Port of Spain , Trinidad ) and Kathleen "Katie" Kissoon (* 11. March 1951 in Port of Spain, Trinidad).
biography
After the siblings Kissoon had moved from Trinidad to England, they founded there with other musicians The Marionettes, a two men and two women singing group of English rock and roll musician Marty Wilde produced . The two later became members of the Rag Dolls. Katie Kissoon was also active under the name Peanut.
The Kissoons only had major commercial success as a duo. With Chirpy Chirpy Cheep Cheep , which was already a worldwide hit by the group Middle of the Road in spring of the year , they placed in the top 20 of the American Billboard Hot 100 and at number 41 in the United Kingdom . With Sugar Candy Kisses (3rd place) and Don't Do It Baby (9th), two top 10 hits in the English charts followed in 1975, Like a Butterfly reached the top 20 (18th) there in the same year. The duo's last chart success was the single The Two of Us , which made it to number 46 on the UK charts in 1976.
Katie Kissoon has since devoted herself to solo projects, such as the 1981 album named after her , and made recordings with artists such as Van Morrison and Roger Waters . Mac Kissoon also released his own records , including the albums Mac Kissoon (1979) and Emotions (1980).
