Madison Charney comes from Brooks ( Alberta ) and played hockey before they tried on the advice of her mother's skeleton. She made her international debut in March 2011 at the last race of the season in the Skeleton America's Cup 2010/11 in Lake Placid , where she was eleventh. In her second season she reached only placements between 2 and 4 in her six starts (out of eight races of the season) in the America's Cup 2011/12 and was thus third in the overall standings behind Cassie Hawrysh and Randee Brookes . At the Junior World Championships in 2012 in Igls, she was twelfth. In the following season she started in the now renamed North American Cup and celebrated her first victory in Whistler . She also took two second places and otherwise placements between 5 and 9, which she achieved second place in the final ranking when Jane Channell was overall winner . In 2013/14 Charney started in the North American Cup and after a third place on her home track in Calgary and ranks between 4 and 9 in the other races, she was again second overall, this time behind Elisabeth Vathje . At the Junior World Championships in 2014, she finished ninth.
At the beginning of the 2014/15 season, Madison Charney was Canadian champion for the first time . After winning the third race of the North American Cup of the season , she made her World Cup debut with a 19th place in Lake Placid . Despite being 10th in the second race of the season in Calgary, she did not take part in the other World Cup races in Europe, but subsequently started in the Intercontinental Cup , where she came second twice in the last two races of the season in Calgary. At the Junior World Championships in Altenberg , she finished eleventh and penultimate place.
