Magallanes is a municipality in the Philippines in the province of Agusan del Norte .
geography
Marshes are characteristic of much of the borough. Magallanes lies at the confluence of the two major rivers in the Agusan del Norte province, the Agusan and the Baug . Much of the area is below sea level, the central location is therefore protected by dikes. To the northwest, the land rises to 99 m above sea level on Mount Taod-oy and 162 m above sea level on Mount Panaytayon .

Magallanes is politically divided into eight barangays . Six of these barangays are on the mainland. Seven are on the coast and one inland.
