Remedios T. Romualdez is a municipality in the province of Agusan del Norte on the island of Mindanao in the southern Philippines .
geography
The municipality is bordered by the municipality of Cabadbaran to the north, Butuan City to the south, Magallanes to the west , all in the province of Agusan del Norte and to the east by the municipality of Sibagat in the province of Agusan del Sur .
The municipality of Remedios T. Romualdez has an area of 81.47 km², of which 49.45 km² (60.70%) are used for agriculture, 22.23 km² (27.29%) are forested, 1.69 km² (2, 07%) are used as settlement areas, 8.00 km² (9.82%) are industrial areas and 0.10 (0.12%) are other areas.

history
Remedios T. Romualdez is named after the mother of Imelda Marcos, the wife of the former Philippine President Ferdinand Marcos .
Remedios T. Romualdez is the youngest municipality in the province of Agusan del Norte, it was on 1 January 1984. from the originally Cabadbaran belonging barangays Agay, Basilisa, Balangbalang, Humilog, Panaytayon, San Antonio and Tagbongabong.
Religion and population structure
The most widely spoken languages are Cebuano , Ilocano and Hiligaynon , the population belongs to the ethno-linguistic groups of the Manobo and Mamanwa .
75% of the population belongs to the Roman Catholic faith, 6% belong to the Aglipay Church , 6% belong to Protestant faiths and 14% belong to other faiths.

The road network consists of three kilometers of national roads, 14 km of provincial roads, 9 km of municipal roads and 57 km of Barangay roads. Most of the roads are dirt roads or gravel.
The municipality is an important rice producer in the province of Agusan del Norte and has one of the most important manganese mineral deposits in the country .
