Magdalena is a small town in the Beni department in the lowlands of the South American Andean state Bolivia .
Location in the vicinity
Magdalena is the central place of the district ( Bolivian : Municipio ) Magdalena and the seat of the administration of the province of Iténez . The city is located at an altitude of 144 m on the left, western bank of the Río Itonomas , which flows in a northerly direction and flows 225 kilometers downstream into the Río Iténez .

Magdalena is located in the Bolivian lowlands just under a hundred kilometers southwest of the border with Brazil . The climate in the Magdalena area is characterized by a balanced temperature curve typical of the tropics with only minor fluctuations.
The annual mean temperature is almost 27 ° C, the monthly values fluctuate between 25 ° C in June / July and 28 ° C in October (see Magdalena climate diagram). From Trinidad, the Ruta 9 highway runs for 211 kilometers in a northerly direction via San Javier and San Pedro Nuevo to San Ramón . Here a dirt road branches off to the east, which reaches Magdalena after 82 kilometers and continues in a south-easterly direction to Huacaraje .
