Magdalena Eisath (born March 5, 1986 in Bolzano ) is a former Italian ski racer . The South Tyrolean competed in all disciplines and in 2007 became Italian champion in giant slalom. Her mother Monika Auer was a successful luge athlete , her brothers Florian and Michael are also ski racers.

Career

Eisath contested her first FIS races in December 2001 , the first appearances in the European Cup followed in February 2005. Shortly afterwards, she achieved her first victory in an FIS race. In December 2005, she took 24th place in the giant slalom in Alleghe for the first time in Europe Cup. At the Junior World Championships in 2006 , she competed in slalom and giant slalom, but only came 30th in the giant slalom. In the 2006/07 European Cup season , Eisath made it into the points exactly once in each of the five disciplines, finishing 16th in the top 20 in the Sella Nevea Super-G for the first time.

Eisath achieved her greatest success so far in March 2007 when she became Italian champion in giant slalom. In the 2007/08 European Cup season she was among the fastest 30 times in all. Her best result was 13th in the first giant slalom in Abetone . In the 2008/09 season she came only to four appearances in the European Cup, but none of these races could finish. Since a cruciate ligament rupture at the end of November 2009, Eisath has not competed in any race and ended her career.
