A1 is a trunk road in Lithuania . It is part of the European route 85 and on a shorter section of the European route 67 (Via Baltica).

The road begins in the capital, Vilnius, and goes through Grigiškės , Vievis and Kaunas , where the A5 Magistralinis kelias highway branches off to the south, and continues across the A8 Magistralinis kelias highway , which leads north to the town of Panevėžys . The road to the west of Kaunas, which was developed as a motorway , crosses the Magistralinis kelias A12 trunk road (part of the European route 77 ) at Kryžkalnis and leads past Nemakščiai and Gargždai to Klaipėda , where it meets and ends on the Magistralinis kelias A13 highway.

The length of the expressway between Vilnius and Kaunas with separate lanes and four-lane roads between Kaunas and Klaipėda is around 311 km.
