Johann Magnus von Baer
Johann Magnus von Baer , also Magnus Johann Baer of Huthorn (born May 24, jul. / 4. June 1765 greg. In Piibe today Landsgemeinde Rakke , Estonia ; † 19th August 1825 in Königsberg , Prussia ) was a Baltic German knights captain and district in Estonia.

Johann Magnus von Baer was born into a wealthy aristocratic Baltic German family on Gut Piibe (German Piep ). The family immigrated from Westphalia to Livonia in the mid-16th century . His father, Heinrich Johann von Baer (1723–1776), and his mother, Anna Louise von Freymann (1734–1814), also owned the estates of Selli, Lasila and Kiidjärve.
Johann Magnus von Baer worked as a hook judge. From June 1815 to February 1818 he was knighthood captain of the Estonian knighthood . Later he was district administrator in Estonia.
Private life
Von Baer married his cousin Juliane Louise von Baer (1764-1820), a daughter of the Russian major Andreas Magnus Baer von Huthorn, on the Vohnja estate in 1787 . The most famous son from the marriage was the Baltic German naturalist Karl Ernst von Baer (1792–1876). The other children were:
