Hortshang Rinpoche ( Tib. Hor tshang gser khri rin po che ; hor tshang rin po che ; Chin. Huocang huofo 霍 仓 活佛) by Labrang Tashikyil is the title of a Trülku (Chin. Huofo "living Buddha") - incarnation line of the Gelug school of Tibetan Buddhism . It is one of the four great throne holders or serthri ( gser khri ) of the Labrang monastery. Its traditional ancestral home is the Labrang Monastery in Amdo in the Chinese province of Gansu , which was founded in 1710 and is the second important monastery in Amdo after the Kumbum Monastery. To date there are seven representatives of this series. The 1st Hor Serthri ( hor tshang gser khri ) was Pelden Dragpa ( dpal ldan grags pa ; died 1729), the 51st Ganden Thripa .
