Mahmud al-Turki (* 1967 in Deir ez-Zor ) is a former Syrian football referee .

Life

Mahmud al-Turki initially played football as a goalkeeper before starting his career as a referee in 1986. By 2010 he headed over 90 games in the Syrian professional league . From 2004 he was a FIFA referee and was the fourth official in international matches, including the 2004 U-19 Asian Cup.

After his house was destroyed as a result of the Syrian civil war and the terrorist organization Islamic State occupied the Deir ez-Zor governorate , Mahmud al-Turki first fled with his family within Syria and then to Germany , where he arrived in December 2014 and finally came to Constance . There he now leads junior and friendly games with the support of the DJK Konstanz .

His main occupation was al-Turki in Deir ez-Zor as an administrative employee of an oil company.

He is married and has eight children.
