Maiden uniteD is a Dutch - English music project. The musicians play songs of the British heavy metal band Iron Maiden in acoustic versions . The project has released three studio albums so far.
history
In 2006 bassist Joey Bruers was asked by the Dutch Iron Maiden fan club if he could do a special show for an Iron Maiden convention that went beyond the usual cover versions . With some musicians he played various songs of the band in acoustic versions, which were positively received by the audience. Iron Maiden bassist Steve Harris saw the concert and loved it. Together with Within Temptation guitarist Ruud Jolie, Bruers rearranged other Iron Maiden songs and looked for musicians for the project.
Damian Wilson from the band Threshold did the vocals. Marco Kuypers and Mike Coolen from the band Cloudmachine were hired for the piano and drums respectively . Anneke van Giersbergen , who became known with the band The Gathering , appears as a guest singer . On December 9, 2010 Maiden uniteD released their self-produced debut album Mind the Acoustic Piece , on which the entire album Piece of Mind is acoustically covered. After a European tour in spring 2011, Maiden uniteD played at the Wacken Open Air music festival and the download festival in summer 2011 . After a small tour in January 2012, the band began recording the second studio album Across the Seventh Sea , which was released in September.
