Marzelstetten is a hamlet in the community of Zusamaltheim in the Swabian district of Dillingen on the Danube . Marzelstetten is two and a half kilometers southeast of Zusamaltheim on the heights between Zusam and Laugna .

history

Marzelstetten is first mentioned in 1343 as "Stetten", it is an extension of Zusamaltheim. To distinguish between places with the same name, the name of the patronage was added since around 1400 . The place belonged to the Bocksberg rule in the late Middle Ages . In 1489 the rule was divided and through Gilg Rieter von Bocksberg the place came to the cathedral chapter in Augsburg , which assigned the place to his Obervogtamt Zusamaltheim . In addition, only the Holy Cross Monastery in Augsburg was wealthy in the village. Due to the secularization , Marzelstetten came to Bavaria in 1802/03 .

Marzelstetten belonged to the former municipality of Hettlingen and was reclassified to the municipality of Zusamaltheim on July 1, 1964.

Religions

The chapel from 1847 is dedicated to St. three marcels dedicated to: Marcellus I , Marcellus and Marcellus of Paris . The three saints are depicted on the altar of the chapel. Marzelstetten has always belonged to the parish of Zusamaltheim.
