Maitum ( Filipino : Bayan ng Maitum ) is a Filipino township in Sarangani Province , Administrative Region XII, SOCCSKSARGEN. It has 44,595 inhabitants (August 1, 2015 census) who lived in 19 barangays . It is classified as a first income class community in the Philippines and as partially urbanized .
Kalamansig is located in the west of the province, on the coast of the Celebes Sea , approx. 125 km west of Alabel and can be reached via the coastal road. The Daguma Mountains rise in the interior of the municipality . Their neighboring communities are Lake Sebu in the north, Palimbang in the northwest, and Kiamba in the east.
