Malungon is an inland municipality in northeast Sarangani. It is bordered to the west by Tupi in the province of South Cotabato , to the north and east by the province of Davao del Sur , to the south by Alabel and General Santos City and to the southwest by Polomolok in the province of South Cotabato.

economy
Malungon's economy is largely based on agriculture and copra extraction . Animal husbandry is the second most important source of income, especially cattle husbandry. Other agricultural products include coconuts , corn , sugar cane , bananas , pineapples , mangoes , pork , chicken eggs , beef, and fish.
Economic growth has accelerated due to global communications capabilities and the completion of a modern highway , greatly improving trade and transportation opportunities.
