Maja Catrin Fritsche (born April 10, 1960 in Leipzig ) is a German pop singer .

Life

The daughter of a musician became a member of the Leipzig Children's Radio Choir when she was twelve . Later she took singing lessons, became a singer in the band Robby’s and studied singing at the University of Music in Weimar from 1978 to 1982 .

Between 1980 and 1984 she successfully participated in international festivals. In 1980 she was one of the winners of the Goldener Rathausmann youth festival in Dresden . She made her television debut in 1981 in the youth show around with the title Upside Down .

At the age of 22, she went on tour with Frank Schöbel , the greatest pop star in the GDR at the time .

With the song But there spoke the girl , her breakthrough came in 1982. In 1984 her first album Freundliches Wort was released by Amiga . She was u. a. Guest in the TV shows Ein Kessel Buntes , Schlagerstudio , There is music in it , Bong .

In 1993 the first new contacts to agencies and organizers were established. In 1994 she wrote and produced her maxi single My life begins again today. In 1995 the album Give me a sign was released. TV appearances like the hit magazine , music for you , goodbye is joy and others followed. Since 1994 Fritsche has been writing his own lyrics and successfully composing, such as the single titles Love total and Love came on Ibiza .

Maja Catrin can now be seen again with several live programs on many stages, for example in 2006 on a tour with Semino Rossi .

In 2015 she celebrated her 35th stage anniversary and released her new CD I've never felt so easy and a music video. The MDR looked back over the past 35 years of her career. In 2016 she released the single and the video The Seventh Heaven is Still Free . In November 2016 she released the single and the video Hundred Thousand Lights , for which she also wrote the text. In 2017 she participated in the MDR show Tour de Frank -  Frank Schöbel - the anniversary gala.
