Malelat has an area of 17.17 km². The 2015 territorial reform did not change the size of sucos. The Suco lies to the west of the Passabe administrative office. In the east it borders on Suco Abani, which also belongs to Passabe . The Monte Pluas , which reach a height of up to 1100  m , run from southwest to northeast at the border . To the north is Suco Banafi , which belongs to the Nitibe administrative office . To the west of the Kusi River , which later becomes Noel Besi , lies the neighboring state of Indonesia . Here the land sinks to an altitude of 485  m .

The larger towns are relatively close together in the northern center of Sucos. These are Besatoko , Nunfomolo , Huak Mutu ( Hauknutu ), Ejomenu , Fatumtasa , Fautkabe , Fatsuba and Kobes . There is a primary school ( Escola Primaria Malelat ), a medical station and a helipad for emergencies. In Fatsuba there is an old fort with a shrine of Mary in the inner courtyard. The Suco is poorly connected to the outside world in terms of traffic. For the parliamentary elections in East Timor in 2007 , the ballot boxes had to be brought to and from the polling station by helicopter.

There is only one Aldeia in the Suco : Malelat .
