Banafi ( Ban Afi ) is an East Timorese Suco in government office Nitibe (Special Administrative Region Oe-Cusse Ambena ).

Before the 2015 territorial reform, Banafi had an area of ​​24.20 km². Now it is 22.99 km². The Suco is located in the southeast of the administrative office Nitibe. To the northwest is the Suco Lelaufe , which also belongs to Nitibe , to the north is the Suco Cunha (administrative office Pante Macassar ), to the east the Sucos Usitasae and Usitaqueno (both administrative office Oesilo ) and to the south the Sucos Abani and Malelat (both administrative office Passabe ). In the west, Banafi borders on the neighboring state of Indonesia . The border forms the river Kusi (later Noel Besi ). The Bitaklele is the border river to the Cunha. On the border with Usitasae, the Malelui flows , which as Malelai flows a piece through the Suco before it forms the Toko together with the Bitaklele , a tributary of the Tono .

In the west of Banafi is the place Kusi , in the southeast the village of Nefomtasa and in the north Nunafa , Besatoko ( Besatoco ), Nefometan ( Neofmetan ) and Naofe . To the east of the Malelais lies the town of Cuanobe, ( Kuanobe ) on the highway from Passabe to Nitibe . The road also runs through the village of Noetoco ( Noetoko ) on the northern tip of the Sucos on Bitaklele. Primary schools are located in Nefomtasa and Neotoco. There is a conference center in Besatoko ( Sedeounter Besatoko ).

In the Suco are the three Aldeias Cuanobe , Hautefo and Nefometan .

Residents

1762 inhabitants live in the Suco (2015), of which 840 are men and 922 women. The population density is 76.6 inhabitants / km². There are 419 households in the Suco. Almost 100% of the residents name Baikeno as their mother tongue. Only a small minority speaks Tetum Terik .

politics

In the 2004/2005 elections , José Seco was elected Chefe de Suco. In the 2009 elections won José Tefa .
