Usitaqueno ( Usi-Taqueno , Usitakeno , Usi Takeno ) is an East Timorese Suco in the administrative office of Oesilo (Sonderverwaötungsregion Oe-Cusse Ambeno ).

Before the 2015 territorial reform, Usitaqueno had an area of ​​9.53 km². Now it is 9.12 km². The Suoc is located in the south of the Oesilo administrative office. To the north are the Sucos Bobometo and Usitasae , which also belong to Oesilo . To the west is the Nitibe administrative office with its Suco Banafi and to the south the Passabe administrative office with its Suco Abani . Usitaqueno borders the neighboring state of Indonesia in the east . The country road from Bobometo to Passabe runs through the southeast. The villages Kuatnana , Nibin and Uerban ( Uetban ) are located on it. The country road from Nitibe to Passabe runs along the western border. The place Kisan is located in the northwest . There is a primary school in Nibin ( Escola Primaria Nibin ).

There is only one Aldeia in the Suco : Nibin .

Residents

833 inhabitants (2015) live in the Suco, of which 382 are men and 451 women. The population density is 91.3 inhabitants / km². There are 216 households in the Suco. Over 99% of the population list Baikeno as their mother tongue. A minority speaks Tetum Prasa .

history

After the independence referendum in East Timor in 1999 , soldiers of the Indonesian armed forces and 200 pro-Indonesian militiamen murdered 17 people with machetes and firearms in the villages of Tumin , Quiubiselo , Nonquican (all Suco Bobometo ) and Nibin between September 7 and 9, 1999 . Houses were burned down and the survivors were deported to West Timor , Indonesia . When they arrived in Inbate , 55 young men were separated, handcuffed and beaten by soldiers, police and militiamen. Then they were herded to Passabe on foot, where they were shot and stabbed. Eight men escaped.

politics

In the elections of 2004/2005 was Vicente Fallo elected Chefe de Suco and in 2009 re-elected.
