history

Malevolence was founded in the English city of Sheffield in South Yorkshire and consists of the singer Alex Taylor, the two guitarists Konan Hall and Josh Baines, the bassist Wilkie Robinson and the drummer Charlie Thorpe.

In June 2013 it was announced that the group had signed a worldwide record deal with Siege of Amida Records and Century Media . At the end of 2013, the debut album Reign of Suffering was released worldwide. The second album "Self Supremacy" was released in May 2017 and, compared to its predecessor, had a significantly higher proportion of elements from Thrash Metal and a much more complex songwriting.

The group has toured with Obey the Brave , Kublai Khan and Napoleon through Europe . In April 2015 she played at the Impericon Festival in Vienna .

style

The music is described as a mixture of modern metal and hardcore punk , which has similarities with Hatebreed and Lamb of God . The music is still described as a beatdown , which mixes the harshness of terror with the sound of Pantera . The seven-minute Turn to Stone shows similarities with Stoner Rock , which is mixed with Hatebreed riffings. In an interview with editor Nadine Schmidt from the online magazine metal.de , singer Alex Taylor said that the assignment to the music style Beatdown would make him angry.
