history
Foundation and debut album Young Blood (2009-2013)
The group was formed in 2011 by musicians Alex Erian ( vocals , Despised Icon ), John Campbell ( guitar , ex- Blind Witness ), Miguel Lepage ( bass , ex-Blind Witness), Greg Wood (guitar) and Steve Morotti ( drums ) founded. The group has already signed a record deal with Good Fight Music , which also signed bands like While She Sleeps , This or the Apocalypse and The Chariot , and finally released their debut EP Ups and Downs on May 22, 2012 as a vinyl record and download .
On August 3, 2012, the group was seen on the All Stars tour through the USA together with Suicide Silence , The Word Alive , I See Stars , A Skylit Drive and Stick to Your Guns . The group has appeared in Los Angeles , Denver , Salt Lake City , Chicago , New York City and Houston, among others. On August 28, 2012, the debut album Young Blood was released via Epitaph Records and Distort Records .
Obey the Brave was also shown in Europe for the first time on October 20, 2012. The group performed together with For the Fallen Dreams , We Came as Romans and Blessthefall as part of Never Say Die! Tour in Germany , Austria , Switzerland , the Czech Republic , Italy , France , the Netherlands , Sweden , Belgium , Luxembourg and the United Kingdom .
In January and February 2013, Obey the Brave was part of the Brothers of Brutality tour from Whitechapel and Emmure , which traveled through the United States and Canada . In April and May 2013, Obey the Brave toured again with Emmure. This time on the The Mosh Lives tour, which was also accompanied by Buried in Verona , Attila and Chelsea Grin . The group was also part of the Impericon Festival in Leipzig . The first concert tour through Australia followed in August , with Boris the Blade as the opening act. Concerts in Asia followed immediately . Between November 7th and 30th, 2013 the band could be seen together with Stray from the Path , Heart in Hand and Relentless as the opening act for Deez Nuts in Europe .
Second album: Salvation (2013-2015)
In September 2013, the band released Full Circle, the first song from their second studio album. On August 11, 2014, almost a year later, the second single called Raise Your Voice followed . On the same day it was announced that the second album is called Salvation and will be released on September 16, 2014 via Epitaph Records .
On July 4th, 2014 the band played on the Hardbowl stage with Being as an Ocean , Blessthefall , Of Mice & Men , Protest the Hero and Stick to Your Guns on the With Full Force .
From September 19, 2014 to October 25, 2014, Obey the Brave was the opening act for The Amity Affliction on their North American tour. Other opening acts were For the Fallen Dreams , Crossfaith , Favorite Weapon and Exotype . As part of the Never Say Die! Tour, the group played a European tour in November with Capsize , More Than a Thousand , No Bragging Rights , Comeback Kid , Stick to Your Guns and Terror . It was the group's second participation in this tour after 2012.
Between April 3, 2015 and May 2, 2015, the group toured several European cities with Malevolence , Napoleon and Kublai Khan . This included several appearances at the Impericon Festivals in Paris , Zurich , Vienna , Oberhausen and Leipzig , as well as an appearance at Groezrock . From May 6th to 24th, 2015 the group completed a tour in South America with stops in Brazil , Argentina , Panama , Mexico and Chile . In summer 2015 the group played at the Summer Breeze in Dinkelsbühl .
Since 2015
On July 19, 2019, the studio album Balance was released , now on Impericon Records.
style
Unlike Despised Icon and Blind Witness - where individual members of Obey the Brave were active - which clearly the deathcore were assigned splint, Obey the Brave plays more of a the metal -influenced hardcore punk , which in the scene as Metalcore is called .
