Capsize was a hardcore punk band from San Diego , California , formed in 2008 .

history

The melodic hardcore band, founded in 2008 in San Diego , California, consists of singer Daniel Wand, the two guitarists Ryan Knowles and Chris Darton, as well as bassist Joey Toarmina and drummer Andrew Tamayo.

In the first two years, the group released an EP on their own. These are called All Aboard and Set Sail . All Aboard was released in 2009 and Set Sail was released a year later. 7 " Live a Burden, Die a Curse ", released in 2013, was also financed out of pocket. On September 30, 2014, The Angst in My Veins was the debut album via Equal Vision Records and Impericon Records . The album was written by Defeater guitarist Jay Maas Recorded at Getaway Recordings Studio in Haverhill , Massachusetts .

In September 2013 the group played their first tour in the UK , Germany , Austria , Belgium and the Netherlands as the opening act for Being as an Ocean . In May 2014, the group headlined the United States for the first time . In September 2014 the group started a US concert tour with Gideon , Fit for a King and Wolves at the Gate as the opening act for Being as an Ocean. In November the band will play as part of Never Say Die! Tour their second European tour. This time as the opening act for Stick to Your Guns , Obey the Brave , Comeback Kid and Terror . On March 27, 2015, the band embarked on a four-week concert tour through the United States as a support act for Defeater , which was also accompanied by Hotel Books and Counterparts . The tour ended on April 28, 2015 with a performance in Buffalo , New York . Between August 19 and 30, 2015, the band played an Australian tour with the band Hellions . Before that, the group played their second tour on the European continent. In September and October another concert tour follows through several European countries, on which the group accompanies Senses Fail and Counterparts this time , before further appearances in the states - including a tour with Silverstein and Hundredth - are completed in November and December .

On May 21, 2016, A Reintroducion: The Essence Of All that Surrouds Me, the second studio album for a release on July 22, 2016, was announced. The album will be released through Rude Records . A planned European tour with the Welsh band Holding Absence , which was due to take place in March 2019, was canceled after allegations of sexual misconduct were brought against guitarist Nick Lopez and singer Daniel Wand in late February. Also as a result of these allegations, which had meanwhile expanded to several members of the group, the band was canceled by Blessthefall as the opening act for their North American tour .

In the meantime, the band has broken up after allegations of sexual abuse.
