Malte Kreutzfeldt (* 1971 in Hildesheim ) is a German journalist and author . Since 2007 he has been an editor in the Economics and Environment section of the daily newspaper die tageszeitung (taz) in Berlin .

Life

Malte Kreutzfeldt studied biology , politics and English from 1992 to 1999 in Göttingen and Berkeley, California . After graduating, he worked as a freelance journalist, then did a traineeship at the Hessische / Niedersächsische Allgemeine and then worked there as a political editor. From 2003 to 2005 he was press spokesman for the globalization-critical network Attac . In 2006 he worked in the press office of the Left Party in the Bundestag .

From January 2007 to May 2012 he headed the economics and environment department at taz . He was followed in this role by Beate Willms and Kai Schöneberg .

Kreutzfeldt is the correspondent for economy and the environment in the parliamentary office of the taz. He is primarily dedicated to the energy transition and financial policy. He attracted a lot of attention in February 2019 when he researched the pulmonologist Dieter Köhler , in which he showed that Köhler had miscalculated several times in his criticism of the limit values ​​for nitrogen oxide and fine dust and had used incorrect numbers.
