college

Mamadou Danso played at North Carolina's Wesleyan College and came to Southern Polytechnic State University in 2008 , where he spent two years with the college team SPSU Hornets . He was selected twice for the All-Southern States Athletic Conference Selection and was the first student in his college to make it into the All-America selection . In the two seasons he scored 35 goals for the Hornets . While in college he played for the Carolina RailHawks U23 in the USL Premier Development League , where he scored two goals in eight games.

society

First he came to DC United , but since he left college early to play football professionally, he moved to the USL team of the Portland Timbers in April 2009 without having previously signed a contract in Major League Soccer . He made his league debut on April 25, where he came on as a substitute in the game against the Vancouver Whitecaps . His first league game goal followed on May 24 in a 2-1 win over Puerto Rico Islanders FC , where he scored the winning goal. During the 2009 season, his team was unbeaten for 24 games. After 40 games and two goals, the franchise dissolved, but was re-established under the same name and has been playing in Major League Soccer ever since. There he ran 64 times for Portland, scoring five goals.

On June 2, 2014, Danso moved to league competitor Montreal Impact in exchange for a pick at the MLS SuperDraft 2015. By the end of the season, Danso was used three times for Montreal. As early as October 31, Impact announced that it would not take the option for Danso and that the contract would expire at the end of the season, i.e. December 31, 2014.

National team

Danso was nominated as part of the qualification for the 2012 African Cup of Nations for the games against Namibia on September 4, 2010 and against Burkina Faso on October 8 , but was not used.

In 2011 he made his international debut.
