Mandyleigh Storm (born May 27, 1972 in Southampton , England ) is an English- Australian singer and songwriter .

Life

Mandyleigh Storm took 3 years of ballet lessons from ages 8 to 11.

In the beginning Mandyleigh sang many songs by Barbra Streisand and then quickly switched to the music of the 30s, 40s, 50s and 60s. She developed a fondness for jazz , gospel , soul and especially blues .

She has been influenced by many great artists, such as John Lennon , Janis Joplin , Nick Drake , Jackie Wilson , Seal , Barbra Streisand , Sarah Vaughn , Nina Simone , George Michael , Annie Lennox , The Beatles , Coldplay and Jamiroquai .

In November 2006, Mandyleigh decided to register with the Internet platform Sellaband . In June 2007 she was the seventh artist (and the first from Australia) to collect the necessary US $ 50,000 from fans. The album called Fire & Snow, which was created with this budget, was released in March 2008.

The album was recorded in Soho , London in November 2007 at Dean St Studio under the direction of Mick Glossop , who has worked with Van Morrison , Frank Zappa , PIL , The Waterboys and Sinéad O'Connor .
